The VR2 performance computer from Nonlinear Engineering is the most feature rich data acquisition tool ever designed for a motorcycle. Based on the original Veypor data logger, the VR2 features increased memory for more data storage, a backup battery for date/time and special features like coefficient of friction and rolling resistance calculation. The Veypor VR2 has been designed from the ground up with motorcycles in mind and the needs of the performance enthusiast. This marvelous little device has a myriad of useful features and add-on accessories, check them out below. Mind blowing!
Once you have a VR2, be sure to regularly check the Veypor website for firmware updates. The firmware updates are simple to download and install and often include new features and enhancements as well as the occasional firmware bug fixes. Please note that Kenma no longer stocks the original Veypor data logger. All Nonlinear Engineering products sold through Kenma Australia carry a full 12 month warranty.
The VR2 literally incorporates a dozen separate products into one incredibly cost effective, easy to install and simple to use unit. All of this design effort was done with the goal of achieving incredible accuracy and resolution with one of the highest sampling rates available in the world of data acquisition.
The VR2 could revolutionise the way you ride. With this advanced motorcycle performance tool, you can focus on riding and let the VR2 accurately obtain all your vital performance data. The VR2 provides an easy and exciting way to continually improve your riding skills and get the most from any motorcycle.
The horsepower and torque plotting serves as an invaluable aid for engine performance tuning and generally going faster. You have several modes for testing including roll-on and dynamometer modes. Your personal dynamometer—this is essential technology for road racers, drag racers and performance enthusiasts.
The VR2 comes with everything you need to install it on any motorcycle, in fact, any vehicle with wheels. You can be up and running analysing your bike's performance in less than two hours.
The Veypor Analysis Software (VAS) is a very easy to use piece of software (you do not need to use it all, though, if you don't want to) that allows you to view, save, print and analyse your performance information on a PC or laptop. You can do things like overlay multiple runs on the same graph, zoom in to your data up to the nearest 1/1000th of a second and add notes for each run to help you with your tuning and performance hunting. Transferring data from your VR2 to PC is easy using the supplied serial cable or optional USB cable.
As with the VR2 firmware, the VAS is also freely avaiable and also subject to continual improvement.
Nonlinear Engineering are continuously developing the VR2 product, including accessories that you can purchase separately to enhance your VR2 experience. The current accessory range includes a billet aluminium case that is excellent for street-fighters or where you want that integrated, modern look to your instruments.
There is a simple, plug-in infra-red receiver that enables automated lap timing with 1/100th of a second accuracy. Please be aware that this is a receiver only, you will need an infra-red transmitter (beacon) for this to work (the receiver works with several popular transmitters). There is also an extension cable for the infra-red receiver that gives you more scope for positioning it on your bike.
There is a button extender that places the operating buttons at your fingertips. The handlebar mounted buttons are weather-proof and the billet aluminum bracket fits either 7/8" or 1" handlebars.
Nonlinear Engineering also have a head-up display (HUD) accessory. If you wish to purchase a head-up display, please contact us.
The VR2 can be fitted to just about any vehicle with wheels and a conventional engine.
