We purchased the bike new about 4 weeks ago (Ninja 250 in picture adjacent)and decided to spend the extra $265 on a set of Oggy Knobs to protect the fairings as my wife hasn't ridden before - we thought it would be a good investment and that it would add value when selling the bike unmarked when she upgrades her bike in 18 months or so.
Unfortunately my wife dropped the bike at approx 55 km/h on a hairpin bend on the weekend. The bike slid approx 7-8 meters on rough bitumen and then off onto the dirt beside the road - I was behind and thought the bike would be completely trashed but when I picked it up there was hardly any damage at all. I started it after a few attempts (fuel flooding from being on its side) and then test rode it for 1 km or so to make sure the steering and brakes were ok to return home. The bike rode as normal with no problem in brakes or steering so instead of riding home my wife jumped back the bike and we continued our ride for another 100 km before returning home.
The protection from the Oggy Knob completely protected the fairings, the indicators and the mirrors during the fall. See attached photo's - whoever designed these is a Genius! After seeing the bike laid down on hard bitumen surface I would have expected $1500 - $2000 damage minimum, mirrors and indicators busted and fairing severely scratched or broken altogether. All it will cost us to get back on the road is probably $45 for a replacement Oggy Knob and Bolt plus some cutting polish to remove the light scratches on the rear fairing. Might touch up with paint as well. The Oggy Knob is busted, it rattles around and has been ground down approx 5-7 mm from new. Regards Brett and Meegan 12/10/2011

Lads, can I just give you a very big thanks. I'm the proud owner of a 07 Daytona 675, yesterday I was fitting a new reg and changing the oil. While fitting the reg I dropped a nut near the front sprocket. Not wanting to leave it there to get me later I tried moving the bike back and forth and side to side.(not smart I know) Anyway I put her down on her right side. Dam!! My heart fell. This is the first time I've ever dropped a bike. After picking her up with a tear in my eye I looked for damage. NOTHING not a single mark. How good are Oggys. To whom it may concern, Thanks for your excellent product. I recently had a very slow speed spill off my FJR 1300 and the only damage to my bike was a slight scratch to right mirror and to right Staintune muffler. The fairing was totally protected. Unfortunately the oggyknob transfer was half peeled off and I was keen to acquire another. How can I do this? All the Best! Alastair. 12/11/2009

Hi Guys, I love the Oggy Knob. I have a Suzuki V Strom, had an off and the knobs took 90% of the damage. Fairing only got vegetation scratches. Saved my leg completely and only lost the brake levers and peg damage. Brilliant. As they say minor cosmetic damage. ALL my bikes have and will have the knobs. Question: I heard that some insurance companies invalidate your cover if you have them fitted. Is that true?? Cheers Jason. 16/08/2009

A bit of customer feedback; my Hayabusa came with a Ventura rack installed. I was a bit worried about having the weight of a pack on the back of a bike but I rode all the way from Nowra to Sydney and didn't even notice it was there! Thank you for your reply, It is very useful as usual. My friend the Auto electrician will just hard wire it without the harness and omitting the blinkers. They are not necessary anyway.
