Niagara Race Crafters of Canada have been designing and manufacturing heavy duty replacement engine side covers for over 16 years. These covers are real racer's insurance. NRC cast alloy engine covers are available for alternator, ignition, idler gear and starter clutches on many modern Japanese sports bikes. They look rather trick too!
NRC engine covers offer more than twice the strength of stock pressure die-cast types. Stock covers are prone to crack and fracture during a stack because of their rigidity and lack of material whereas NRC covers have been designed for greater resistance to stress cracking and fatigue as well as road abrasion.
NRC covers may be slightly heavier than stock ones, however, they provide many advantages to the racer and road rider alike, such as:
If that isn't reason enough, NRC covers are precision cast for good grain flow along the contours of the cover, resulting in high strength and mechanical stability. They are also much cheaper and far more environmentally friendly to produce than billet items. The kind of damage that can be caused by engine cover failure, even at low speeds, as can be seen here.
These covers are currently allowed in competition for Australian 600 Supersport and Production Superbike racing and are used successfully in the UK Supersport and Stocksport racing. Racers, check your GCR's.
For fitment listings please visit the NRC website. Bear in mind that these covers are designed primarily for race Jap models such as CBR, GSX-R, ZX and YZF.
Please note that pricing is indicative only and applies only to local Australian purchases. Prices are subject to change without notice.
The NRC heavy duty engine cover range retails from AU$110.00 to AU$320.00. Prices compare favourably with stock replacement items when you consider the benefits gained by using NRC covers.
